    20 December 2023

Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC) announced results from its 12 Days of Giving Holiday Campaign today. The campaign which took place in NLC Corporate stores from December 7-18, raised $77,905 thanks to the generosity of NLC customers and supplier partners, along with the dedication of NLC’s retail staff. In addition, NLC matched $15,000 of customer donations.

Funds raised from the campaign will support the Community Food Sharing Association and its member food banks by providing holiday food hampers to people in need across the province. In addition to the funds raised in-store, staff across all areas of the business from NLC’s corporate offices, Distribution Centre, retail locations, and Rock Spirits collected both monetary and food donations towards the cause.

NLC President and CEO, Bruce Keating commented on the important role that NLC can fulfil, saying, “NLC has one of the largest and broadest retail footprints in the province and is owned by the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. We have a great opportunity to leverage our presence and work with different groups to support the people of the province in a greater capacity. This partnership with the Community Food Sharing Association, along with our customers, suppliers, NLC team members, and NLC corporately, is a perfect example of turning that opportunity into action - to help those facing food insecurity at one of the most difficult times of the year.”

The 12 Days of Giving Campaign is part of NLC’s greater commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. NLC takes it mandate seriously and is committed to ensuring the safe and responsible sale, distribution, and regulation of beverage alcohol and cannabis. In addition to providing socially responsible messaging, programs, and training, NLC is committed to giving back to the community through employee engagement campaigns and volunteer initiatives, while supporting causes that reflect its corporate values.
